2.  "Team" approach with other agencies to provide total client care.
3.  Case management to address issues making persons "at risk" of ongoing homelessness, including on-site visits.
4.  Encouraging independence by addressing goals and life choices.
Shelter Assistance Program

Interfaith provides the payment of one month's rent or mortgage for individuals or families, who are struggling to maintain their
housing.  We also provide first month's rent or security deposit for individual or families who are moving from homeless into
permanent housing.  Shelter in the form of motel or camping fees may be provided in emergency cases.

Callers are screened for the following criteria:
  • Gross family income must not exceed federal poverty to low income guidelines
  • Demonstrate a verifiable decrease or interruption of income or extraordinary expense
  • Demonstrate a verifiable ability to pay future rent or mortgage and living expenses
  • Demonstrate homelessness or in danger of becoming homeless
  • Other circumstances considered case by case
Shelter Assistance Application Process

Shelter assistance is given by appointment only.  Appointments are made on the first working day of each month by telephone
beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Anyone not receiving an appointment by noon will be placed on a waiting list.  Persons on the waiting
list will receive callbacks to set up appointments as vacancies arise.  Our process begins anew each month.  The waiting list
does not carry over to the next month.
